Introduction
Ruby (In Latin, ruber meaning red) is a Corundum with a trigonal crystal system in a hexagonal crystal class, similar to that of Sapphire. It is valued for its rarity and durability with colours ranging from reds, pinks to purples. The most valuable ones are those in blood-red colour where it was sold for US$160.9 million, called the Sunrise Ruby. In Ancient Egypt, the Pharaohs also believed that Ruby was a talisman that provided love, joy and everlasting health if you kept it in contact with your skin.
Properties
Ruby allows the user to feel safe, like having a hot cup of cocoa on a cold winters night next to a warm fireplace. It centres our physical state to be present in our surroundings. If you ever need relaxation from the physical pains in your body, you can place Ruby on the specific area of pain for relief. You may do so in a meditative state or when you are lying down. Allow its vibrations to circulate through your body and if it is not enough, you can even pair it with Carnelian, Bloodstone and/or Red Jasper. In healing with Ruby, you will be in touch with the deeper issues inside your body. For some, it could be as simple as period pains or on a much more serious note like sexual dysfunction, reproductive issues or addiction. And before you think about putting it in your water to consume, I highly suggest you do so in a small ziplock bag so that you do not have direct contact with the stone.
